Ugandan environmental activist Faith Patricia Ariokot has drawn widespread attention after completing a 100-hour continuous walk around a tree at Tembuzi Cultural Fun Park in a strong message calling for climate action and environmental protection.
The challenge began on June 5 and ended on June 9 at exactly 2:00 PM, marking four days of uninterrupted movement around a single tree as part of her awareness campaign on climate change and forest conservation.
Born in Kampala with family roots in Soroti, Ariokot says her passion for nature was inspired by her grandfather, who strongly protected trees within their family compound. That early influence shaped her lifelong commitment to environmental activism.
This is not her first public campaign. In 2024, she set a Guinness World Record by hugging a tree for 16 hours and 6 seconds, using the achievement to highlight the role of trees in fighting climate change and preserving ecosystems.
Through her latest endurance challenge, Ariokot is calling on individuals, communities, and leaders to take stronger responsibility in protecting forests and restoring degraded environments.
As she completed the 100-hour walk, she delivered her message clearly:
“There is no Planet B.”
