CDF Muhoozi Steps In as Bebe Cool Agrees to Delete Posts and End Public Dispute With Jolly Mutesi

A rapidly escalating public dispute between Ugandan musician Bebe Cool and former Miss Rwanda 2016 Jolly Mutesi appears to be cooling down after the intervention of Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

The  Gagemel crew boss confirmed that he received a direct phone call from Muhoozi Kainerugaba, whom he described as his “big brother and leader,” advising him to end the online exchanges, delete the contested posts, and handle the matter privately given what he referred to as existing family ties connected to Muhoozi.

The controversy erupted after Bebe Cool publicly accused Jolly Mutesi of allegedly misleading him through claims involving access to the Rwandan presidency, potential Arsenal FC-related sponsorship opportunities, and career advancement prospects for his son.

The allegations quickly spread across social media, triggering intense debate and public scrutiny across East African online spaces.

In response, Mutesi’s legal team issued a formal demand letter, accusing the singer of defamation and warning of legal action unless he retracted the statements and issued an apology.

Following Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s intervention, Bebe Cool agreed to pull down the social media posts tied to the allegations. The move signals a clear attempt to defuse tensions in a dispute that had grown into a high-profile cross-border controversy involving two prominent public figures.

The development also underscores Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s increasingly visible role in mediating sensitive disputes involving influential personalities in Uganda’s public and entertainment spheres, particularly when controversies risk escalating beyond national boundaries.
