Renowned Ugandan dancehall singer Yung Mulo, born Kassim Lubega, has taken a major step toward marriage after officially visiting the family of his fiancée, Kahima Brenda, in a colorful Kukyala ceremony held on Saturday, June 20, 2026.
The ceremony marked the fulfillment of a long-held dream for the singer, who earlier this year publicly revealed his plans to formalize his relationship and appealed to friends, fans, and well-wishers for support.
In response, several fundraising initiatives were organized, including live TikTok sessions where supporters contributed towards making the ceremony a success.
Preparations for the event began on June 6, when Yung Mulo paid a courtesy visit to Brenda’s aunt (Ssenga) to discuss arrangements and cultural requirements for the official Kukyala, also known as Okugamba Obugyenyi.
The celebrations reached their climax today as the singer, accompanied by family, friends, and prominent figures from both the entertainment and political spheres, visited Brenda’s parents at their home in Buwaate.
Among those who escorted Yung Mulo were musician Kabako, rapper Feffe Bussi, Hon. Zahara Luyirika, and several other notable guests who turned up to witness the special occasion.
The successful Kukyala ceremony now paves the way for the couple’s next steps as they continue their journey toward officially tying the knot in accordance with Ugandan traditions.
