Ugandan music star Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has publicly accused former Miss Rwanda 2016, Jolly Mutesi, of allegedly defrauding him in a scheme he says involved Rwanda and Arsenal Football Club.
In a series of posts shared on X (formerly Twitter),the Gagamel crew boss claimed that Mutesi conned him out of money while presenting herself as someone capable of facilitating opportunities connected to Rwanda and Arsenal FC.
“This woman, @mutesi_jolly, stays in the UK and always watches Arsenal games. She conned me last year in the name of Rwanda and Arsenal Football Club, and now she’s on another big mission,” Bebe Cool wrote.
The singer did not disclose the exact amount of money involved or provide detailed information about the alleged transaction. However, he insisted that he possesses substantial evidence and is prepared to reveal more details to protect Rwanda’s reputation.
Bebe Cool further alleged that Mutesi and an associate have been running similar schemes for a long time and that several other people have allegedly fallen victim.
“I have much more information than you think about you and your friend playing this game for a long time. I know more people you did this to. The good thing is that you physically met one of the victims, and that’s how I confirmed it was you,” he stated.
According to the “Love You Everyday” singer , he became involved while exploring football opportunities for his son. He also claimed that the individuals involved used contacts and bank accounts in Uganda to receive money.
The veteran musician added that he was not afraid to speak publicly about the matter because his wife was aware of the conversations from the beginning, as they centered on his son’s football career.
In response, Jolly Mutesi denied the accusations and maintained that fraudsters have been impersonating her online.
Through a statement posted on X, Mutesi said an unidentified individual had created fake accounts using her name to scam unsuspecting people.
“It has come to my attention that someone has created a fake account and is impersonating me under the name AKANSASIRA JOLLY. I regret that some people have become victims. Please be cautious and do not engage with messages from any unverified accounts,” Mutesi said.
The allegations have sparked debate on social media, with many users calling for evidence and clarification from both parties. As of now, neither Bebe Cool nor Jolly Mutesi has presented publicly verified documentation to support their respective claims.
The matter remains unresolved, with Bebe Cool hinting that he may release additional information in the coming days.
