Ugandan musician Joshua Baraka is mourning the loss of his father, Pastor Okello Lawrence Habalu, who passed away on June 7, 2026, at the age of 57.
The sad news was first shared by Joshua himself via his socials, who announced the passing of Pastor Habalu (1969–2026), a respected church leader and father, how he described as his humble pastor.
In an emotional tribute, Joshua Baraka reflected on cherished moments with his father, including a heartfelt conversation in which Pastor Habalu expressed pride in his son’s achievements and the positive impact he has made through his music. During the exchange, the pastor described Baraka as a young man making a difference in society.
Funeral arrangements have since been released. A funeral service will be held today at 3:00 PM at Kamwokya Church of God in Kampala, while the burial is scheduled for tomorrow at 2:00 PM in Bugelele, Kitimbwa, Kayunga District. However cause of his death is not yet revealed by the press the time.
The news has sparked an outpouring of condolences from fans, friends, and members of Uganda’s entertainment community as Joshua Baraka and his family navigate this difficult loss.
