Former Kampala Lord Mayor and Opposition lawyer, Hon. Erias Lukwago is currently being held at Kira Division Police Headquarters, according to former Deputy Lord Mayor and PFF member, Doreen Nyanjura.
Nyanjura confirmed that Lukwago is in detention at the facility, where access has reportedly been restricted, with only his lawyer Medard Lubega Ssegona allowed to meet him while other supporters remain blocked outside.
Lukwago was arrested on June 15 from his Wakaliga residence by Special Forces Command (SFC) operatives and taken to unknown destination . The arrest came amid his role as lead counsel for opposition leader Kizza Besigye in an ongoing treason case.

The detention follows reports that Lukwago’s legal team had attempted to serve High Court summons to the Chief of Defence Forces, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, an action that the general later publicly acknowledged and commented on.
Security agencies have not issued a detailed public explanation regarding the arrest, while tensions remain high around the legal and political developments linked to the case.
