Andrew Kabuura Lands Prestigious 2026 FIFA World Cup Role on SuperSport

Ugandan sports broadcaster Andrew Kabuura has announced that he will be part of SuperSport TV’s presentation team for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking another major milestone in his celebrated broadcasting career.

Kabuura, the Head of Sports at NBSport Uganda, revealed that he will be leading coverage of the world’s biggest football tournament alongside some of the game’s most renowned legends, bringing the action to millions of viewers across Africa.

The accomplished commentator is no stranger to football’s biggest stages. Over the years, he has covered the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and 2018, several Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments, and recently reported on the UEFA Champions League semifinals.

The announcement sparked excitement among fans, with many hailing Kabuura as one of Uganda’s greatest sports broadcasting exports. Some supporters even jokingly suggested that his leadership and expertise make him a worthy candidate to head Uganda’s football governing body, FUFA.

Others expressed pride in seeing a Ugandan talent take center stage on one of Africa’s biggest sports platforms, while football enthusiasts shared bold predictions for the tournament, with Portugal, Spain, and several African nations tipped as potential contenders.

The expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup kicks off today with hosts Mexico facing South Africa in Mexico City. The tournament will feature a record 104 matches and will be staged across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

For Kabuura, the appointment represents yet another opportunity to showcase Ugandan excellence on the global stage.
