“You Can’t Hide From Justice” – PFF Accuses Muhoozi of Holding Lukwago to Block Court Summons

The People’s Front for Freedom (PFF) has escalated its confrontation with Chief of Defence Forces Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, accusing him of orchestrating the abduction of opposition lawyer and party leader Erias Lukwago to prevent the service of court summons.

Speaking at the party headquarters on Tuesday, PFF Deputy President Dr. Lulume Bayiga alleged that Lukwago was seized by armed state security operatives while preparing to serve legal papers on Gen. Muhoozi.

“Even though you abducted Counsel Lukwago to avoid being served with court summons, we will ensure that the summons is served and that you appear before the courts of law,” Bayiga declared.

According to PFF, Lukwago was taken from his Kampala home on June 15, 2026. The party claims he is currently being held under the custody of Gen. Muhoozi, the son of President Yoweri Museveni.

The summons are linked to legal proceedings arising from the treason and alleged abduction-related case involving opposition leader Kizza Besigye.

Bayiga further revealed that the party has had no communication with Lukwago since his reported abduction and does not know his exact whereabouts.

“We have not heard from our leader, Erias Lukwago. We do not know where he is being held, but we understand he is in the custody of the CDF,” Bayiga said.

He also claimed that efforts to formally report Lukwago missing were frustrated by authorities. According to Bayiga, Lukwago’s legal team, led by lawyer Medard Lubega Sseggona, visited Nateete Police Station and the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) on Monday, but officers allegedly declined to record a missing person’s report.

The allegations have further heightened political tensions, with PFF insisting that no amount of intimidation or interference will derail the court process. The party maintains that the summons will be served and that Gen. Muhoozi will ultimately be required to answer before a court of law.
