Uganda Musicians have started gaining global stage, with their songs gaining audience not only in Uganda but also in African and beyond.
Having dominated the music industry for two decades, Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine are finally rested from the top trending lists as the three have since focused more on business and politics leaving the floor for young musicians who are ready to take Ugandan music to places it has never been.
Here is our list of top 10 musicians in Uganda at the moment.
10. John Black. John Black has been in the music industry for over 8 years, and every time he enters the studio, people think he has brought the best he can bring but the truth, every year, he continues to bring better and better music. With songs such My Life ft Mozelo Kidz, John black was one of the best in the country in the 2025 and so far, in2026, he has already released good music like his song Angella.

9. Cindy Sanyu. Quality, Class and Consistency are the qualities that define the King Herself. Her songs continue to excite many people in 2026 and it seems she is not about to stop. Her song See You Tonight Featuring Omega 256, released last year was one of the best songs of her career. She has a new song featuring Bruno K titled Like You.

8. Eddy Kenzo. Arguably the most popular musician ever in Uganda, the first and only Uganda to win BET Award, Eddy Kenzo continue to make a great impact in the industry. He was nominated in the 2026 Grammy Awards, the second time he is nominated in the awards and the only Ugandan musician to have his name appear on the list of nominees of the most prestigious music awards in the world.

7. Fik Fameica. Appealing both the Gen Z and Millennials, Uganda rapper and song writer Fik Fameica – the King Kong is that big name in the industry that can’t go unnoticed. Year after year, he is always with trending songs. His latest songs Bilalamu, Ekyuka kyuka are all bangers.

6. Elijah Kitaka. You might have been putting on men shorts currently dubbed ‘Elijah Kitakas’ but this is not the reason why he is on the list. We shall get to that part when bring the list of Top Influential Ugandans Fashion, for now Elijah Kitaka is here because of his music. Anyone who hasn’t danced to Elijah Kitaka’s song? Definitely none!

5. Alien Skin Kibanda. When he trended shortly after the COVID-19 second lock down, many people thought he was just a passing wind whose music will hit for a year and then he disappears like Olusiku wa Cementi guy! But that is not Patrick Mulwana that I know. Skin came to conquer, came to destroy and ransack! With Nepanka and Kapati featuring Sandra Naxx, Alien Skin already has songs in 2026 trending including the latest song Nayitangawano.

4. Sheebah Karungi. History will always write the Karma Queen as one of the greatest musicians that have ever lived in Uganda. Her new songs Wesibadde, Nywera and many others are surely the best in the country. Her video Dance for the Lord alongside Bentrom has already hit 2 Million views on YouTube in just one month!

3. Kapeke. If you are 35 years old or more, you might be asking who is this Kapeke! He is someone who qualifies even to be number one. We do not help Kapeke by listening to his music, he is the one doing us a favour to give us such music. Well to the millennials and Gen X, if you don’t know Kapeke, he is the reason your son or little brother dances trying to cut off his neck. Tem’ensingo! Songs like Amasanyalaze Ogawulira, Simanyi nakumanya nfinini – Kapeke is a generational talent. TikTokers are lucky to have him, they have songs to do endless challenges!

2. Tracy Melon. Rare to find a lady who is beautiful, talented and humble! Tracy Melon can best be described by these attributes. The fast-rising singer has released several love ballads that are used as ring tones of every person in love and even those who wish to be in love! Her songs Ogenda Kukiraba, sumagiza, Tovayo etc are great songs!

1. Joshua Baraka. You must have already guessed right. Joshua Baraka is the hottest and most trending artist in Uganda. His music sells not only in Uganda but everywhere, where there are people with ears to listen to music.
Baraka has managed to top the list of most streamed Ugandan artist on Spotify for two years now. His songs are not only exciting to former Manchester City player Emmanuel Akanji but most music lovers all over the world. No wonder, he was the only one selected in Uganda to perform at the concluded African Cup of Nations (AFCON) fan zones in Morocco!
